Connection Considerations

Use a six-wire cable for applications with a door contact and a

request-to-exit device.

Use an eight-wire cable for applications with a sounder.

If you use 18 AWG (1.2 mm) wire, you can place the reader up to 3000

ft (914 m) away from the door controller.
